I t...O - I really hope you enjoy Lord of the Rings. I think it's brilliant!<br />Colleen- I had that problem too because the book i've got isn't the one pictured here. I had two sets of Lord of the Rings -one movie tie in which I gave to a friend, and a really really old set with gorgeous covers, so then I had to find The Hobbit to match, which was really difficult and took months! But of course it was worth the wait!anarmchairbytheseahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14593618746095559894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3246380981479604275.post-30695163799537561592011-12-15T01:59:26.504+00:002011-12-15T01:59:26.504+00:00I loved this book! I keep hoping I'll find one that matches the copies I have of LotR, but no luck so far...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3246380981479604275.post-19956961102658467252011-12-12T10:14:17.398+00:002011-12-12T10:14:17.398+00:00Only read The Hobbit for the first time a few year...Only read The Hobbit for the first time a few years ago. It's interesting that your father read it to you so earlier. And even more interesting that I think it interesting, because you're right: it did start off as a children's book, but then perceptions changed :)Alex (The Sleepless Reader)https://www.blogger.com/profile/03083761152675156469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3246380981479604275.post-1376032710648815532011-12-10T12:54:49.723+00:002011-12-10T12:54:49.723+00:00I'm not sure why, but I had a bit of an issue ...I'm not sure why, but I had a bit of an issue with Tolkein - I hadn't read any, but in one of my challenges I have to read Hobbit and Lord of Rings, and I was dreading it, really not looking forward to it. I read Hobbit about a month ago and really enjoyed it, my preconceptions were utterly unfounded. I've not yet started Rings, but will in 2012. I have been told that the trilogy fits more with my preconceptions than Hobbit, so again I'm not exactly looking forward to it, but hopefully I'll be wrong again!ohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01245931629228090133noreply@blogger.com
