I've got three of these on my shelves plus a couple more that were challenged and you're right. They've got a gay theme. As for the most important banned book, I'm going with Harry Potter. That series did so much for me in times of struggle in my teen years, as I know it did for so many others. But I now have a great grandson living nearby so I will be reading them again. We read a lot of Dr Seuss when my children were small. I have And Tango Makes Three on my TBR list currently. One of our autistic students checked it out, and his parents sent him back the next day with his para to return it and get a different book. They said that they were just not ready to discuss certain topics with their son just yet. I thought they handled that very well - they made a decision for themselves, but didn't try to force the book to be removed from the library so that no one could read it.
